School Uniform

We Wear Our Uniform With Pride

Uniform is an important part of a school’s identity. By choosing to send your child to Holy Cross, you are choosing to adhere to our uniform policy. Our uniform reinforces who we are as a community and helps enable our pupils to feel pride in their school. It ensures pupils are not put under any pressure because of the type of clothes they wear and promotes equality. We wear our uniform with pride and thank you for ensuring your children are properly equipped for the school day.

Our school’s uniform:

All year groups
  • White polo shirt or white blouse/shirt
  • Grey trousers / shorts / pinafore / skirt / culottes or Holy Cross kilt or purple gingham dress
  • Holy Cross logo purple sweatshirt or Holy Cross logo purple cardigan
  • Grey tights or grey / white plain socks
  • Sensible plain black school shoes or flat sturdy, black, close fitting, short ankle boots (‘Ugg’ style boots, loose fitting pull-on boots, boots higher than the ankle, patterned boots, boots with fur trims, and boots with heels are all unsuitable for safe school wear and are not allowed. If you are unsure if a boot is suitable, please ask for advice before purchasing.)

PE:

Children should come into school wearing their PE kits on PE days and should follow the guidelines below (no general, multicoloured sports clothing or football kits)

All year groups

Expectations are that all pupils should be able to dress themselves (unless valid reason), be able to tie their own shoelaces.

All clothing should be labelled with the name of the child so that it can be returned if lost. All clothing unnamed will be put into the lost property box and be disposed of at the end of each term.

We use The Big Wight T-Shirt Company https://www.bigwight.com/ as an affordable supplier of our school items with logos.

However, the majority of our items can be obtained more widely from ‘high street’ retailers and larger supermarkets.

Pre-loved uniform

We have a large selection of good condition pre-loved uniform available. Please just ask at the office, or speak to Mrs Banks or Mrs Margetts, if you would like any items. We're happy to help.
